How to Link Training to Workflows
Link a training resource to a workflow so your team can access it directly from the pipeline board.
Training Links connect a training resource — either a Playbook or any external URL — to a workflow. Once set, a "View Training" button appears on the pipeline board so anyone working that workflow can pull up the right material in one click.
Anyone with workflow-edit permission can set a training link. No plan restriction.
Where to set it
There are two places to set or change a workflow's training link:
- Training hub — go to app.trustpager.com/training/workflows. Hover a workflow card and click the cog icon. The Training Link dialog opens.
- Workflow settings — go to app.trustpager.com/crm/workflows/<pipeline_id>/settings. The General card has a "Training Link" picker that auto-saves on change.
Two link types
The Training Link dialog has a segmented control with two modes:
- External URL — paste any URL (a Notion doc, a Loom recording, an internal wiki page, a Claude project, anything). When team members click "View Training", it opens in a new tab.
- Playbook — pick one of your team's existing Playbooks (built at app.trustpager.com/training/playbooks). When team members click "View Training", it opens Playbooks with that Playbook pre-selected.
The picker enforces mutual exclusion — you set one or the other, not both.
Viewing training from the pipeline board
Once a training link is set, a "View Training" button appears on the action bar at the top of the pipeline board (app.trustpager.com/crm/workflows/<pipeline_id>) alongside the pipeline selector. Click it to open the linked resource.
Training is also accessible from the workflow card footer on app.trustpager.com/training/workflows.
Removing or changing a training link
Open either edit surface (training hub cog or workflow settings). Clear the field or switch to a different resource. Changes save immediately.
What happens if a Playbook is deleted
If someone deletes the Playbook you linked to, the workflow gracefully falls back to showing "No training linked" — no broken pointer. To re-link, just open the Training Link dialog and pick a new Playbook or paste a URL.
Tip: The best training links are short and purposeful — a single Loom walkthrough, a one-page Notion SOP, or a Playbook with three cards. Long documents don't get read. If your team keeps asking the same question about a workflow, the answer belongs in the training link.
