Use AI to generate documents
How to use TrustPager AI to draft proposals, agreements, and other documents directly from an opportunity.
TrustPager AI can draft a document for you in seconds. Give it a prompt and it produces a full HTML document — ready to review, edit, and send for signing — without you starting from scratch.
What this covers
AI document generation is available inside any opportunity. It works alongside your existing document templates and produces a standalone document attached to that opportunity.
Generate a document
- Open the opportunity you want to create a document for at https://app.trustpager.com/crm.
- Click the Documents tab inside the opportunity.
- Click Generate with AI.
- Describe what you want — for example: "Draft a proposal for a website redesign project. Include scope, timeline, and pricing sections."
- Click Generate. TrustPager AI produces a full document in a few seconds.
- Review the result. Edit any section directly in the document editor.
- When you're happy, click Save.
What happens after you save
The document is attached to the opportunity and visible under the Documents tab. From there you can:
- Send it for e-signing via Send for Signing
- Download it as a PDF
- Share a view-only link with your client
Using AI with document templates
If you already have a document template set up, AI generation works alongside it — you can generate a fresh document from a prompt, or start from a template and let AI fill in the variable sections. Both options are available from the Documents tab inside any opportunity.
Tips for better results
- Be specific. Include the client name, project type, and any key details you want in the document.
- Name the sections you want. For example: "Include an About Us section, a scope of work, and a pricing table."
- Iterate. If the first draft isn't quite right, edit it directly or regenerate with a more detailed prompt.
Using AI document generation via MCP
If you have TrustPager connected to an AI agent via MCP, you can trigger document generation programmatically using the ai_generate_document tool. Pass the opportunity ID, a prompt, and optional template context. The generated document is saved and attached to the opportunity automatically.
Troubleshooting
- The Generate with AI button isn't visible
- AI document generation requires an active TrustPager AI subscription. Check your plan at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing.
- The generated document looks wrong
- Edit it directly in the document editor — every section is editable. If the structure is off, try a more detailed prompt and regenerate.
- I can't find the document after saving
- Documents are attached to the specific opportunity you generated them from. Open that opportunity and check the Documents tab.
