How to Find Leads with Lead Gen Prospector
How to search for businesses by industry and location, filter results, save searches, and add leads to your CRM as contacts, accounts, and opportunities.
Lead Gen Prospector is a built-in B2B prospecting tool that searches Google Maps data to surface businesses by industry and location. Each search returns business names, phone numbers, websites, star ratings, review counts, and addresses — all ready to filter and add directly to your CRM.
Open Lead Gen at https://app.trustpager.com/growth/lead-gen.
Credit costs
Each search deducts credits from your workspace balance:
- 50 results — 400 credits
- 100 results — 1,000 credits
- 200 results — 2,000 credits
- 500 results — 5,000 credits
Your current balance is shown in the bottom-right of the search form. Credits are deducted when you click Search, not when you add a lead to your CRM.
Running a search
- Go to https://app.trustpager.com/growth/lead-gen.
- Enter a Search term — the type of business you are looking for (e.g. electricians, accountants, cafes).
- Enter a Location — suburb, city, or state (e.g. Sydney, NSW or Melbourne, VIC).
- Choose a Max Results size and note the credit cost shown on the button.
- Click Search. You land on the results page automatically once the search completes.
Searches up to 100 results typically complete in a few seconds. Larger searches for 200 or 500 results run in the background — the page updates once results are ready.
Reading the results
Results are sorted by star rating. Each row shows:
- Business name and primary Google Maps category
- Rating and review count
- Phone, website, and email (email shown only if Require email address was enabled on the search)
- City / State
- Status badge — New, Previously found, In CRM, or Imported
Status badges tell you where each business sits in your workflow:
- New — first time this business has appeared in any of your searches
- Previously found — appeared in an earlier search but not yet added to your CRM
- In CRM — TrustPager matched the phone or website to an existing contact or account
- Imported — you have already added this lead to your CRM
Filtering results
Use the filter bar at the top of the results page to narrow down what you see:
- Rating — minimum star threshold (3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, or 5 stars)
- Reviews — minimum review count (5, 10, 25, 50, or 100+)
- Contact info — has phone, has website, has email, or has both phone and website
- Status — New, Previously found, or In CRM
- Imported — Not imported or Imported
- Category — free-text filter on the Google Maps category field
- City / State — free-text filter on location
Filters are applied client-side on the loaded result set — no extra credits are used when filtering.
Adding leads to your CRM
CRM conversions are done one lead at a time, with an explicit consent confirmation for each. Click Add to CRM on any lead row to open the conversion dialog. See Adding a lead to your CRM in the Lead Gen Initiatives article for full details on the contact mapping, pipeline placement, and consent steps.
Advanced filters
Click Advanced Filters below the main search form to refine what Google Maps data is returned before spending credits:
- Min Rating — exclude businesses below a star threshold at the source
- Website — return all businesses, only those with a website, or only those without
- Language — language for search results (default: English)
- Category Filter — comma-separated Google Maps category keywords to narrow results further (e.g. plumber, HVAC)
- Skip closed businesses — exclude permanently or temporarily closed places (on by default)
- Require email address — visit each business website to find an email address, and only return businesses where one was found. When this is on, the Website filter is automatically set to "Has website" and locked — you cannot extract an email without a website to visit. Use this when your outreach requires email and you want to skip leads without one.
Saving searches
If you run the same type of search repeatedly, save it so you can reload the parameters in one click:
- Fill in the Search and Location fields (and any advanced filters you want).
- Click Save Search — this appears next to the Search button once both fields are filled.
- The search is saved automatically with a name in the format search term — location.
- Next time, select it from the Load saved search dropdown at the top of the form.
Saved searches track how many times they have been run and when they were last used. You can update the parameters of a saved search by loading it, making changes, and clicking Save Search again.
Search history
Every search you have run appears in the Search History sidebar on the right of the page at https://app.trustpager.com/growth/lead-gen. Each entry shows the search term, location, and result count. Click any completed search to re-open the results.
Once you have leads, set up an Initiative to contact them automatically — see Automate Outreach with Lead Gen Initiatives.
