How AI credits work
What TrustPager AI credits are, how different features charge them (token-based vs flat-rate), typical credit costs by feature, how to top up on demand, and how to set up auto top-up and low-credit warnings so your workspace never runs dry.
TrustPager AI credits are the unit of account for every AI-powered action on the platform — from writing a quick email reply to running a full pipeline generation. Credits are separate from your subscription plan and are shared across your whole workspace.
How credits are charged
Most AI features fall into one of two pricing models:
Token-based (variable cost)
Features that read or write text charge based on the amount of text processed. Longer inputs and longer outputs cost more credits than short ones. These features scale naturally — a quick fix costs almost nothing; a detailed analysis costs proportionally more.
Flat-rate (fixed cost per action)
Some features charge a fixed number of credits per action regardless of text length. These are predictable and easy to budget for:
- SMS messages - a fixed rate per message sent.
- Lead generation searches - charged per result returned from a saved-search or initiative dispatch.
- TrustPager Notetaker - a fixed rate per meeting recorded.
- TrustPager Voice Agent calls - a fixed rate per minute of conversation.
Typical credit costs by feature
| Feature | Typical cost | What drives the range |
|---|---|---|
| AI text edit (email reply, subject line) | 1-7 credits | Length of the draft being edited |
| AI form fill / website fill | 10-30 credits | Number of fields and length of source content |
| AI needs analysis | 40-145 credits | Depth of analysis and number of questions generated |
| AI transcript summary (15-30 min call) | 15-45 credits | Length of the transcript |
| AI transcript summary (90-min meeting) | 70-115 credits | Length of the transcript |
| AI call coaching | 45-115 credits | Length of the call transcript and depth of coaching output |
| AI pipeline generator | 15-45 credits | Number of stages and complexity of the pipeline |
| AI document generation | 15-45 credits | Length and number of sections in the generated document |
| AI form prefill | 10-30 credits | Number of fields prefilled and length of source data |
| AI image generation | Fixed per-image rate | Flat rate regardless of prompt length |
These are typical ranges. Your workspace credit log at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing shows the exact cost of each action.
Checking your balance
Your current credit balance is shown at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing. The balance is workspace-wide — all team members draw from the same pool. If your balance reaches zero, Evie (the AI assistant) pauses until you top up.
Topping up your credits
There are two ways to add credits, both available on the Credit Balance card at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing.
Quick Top Up (on-demand)
Use the Quick Top Up button whenever you want to add credits right now. Choose from preset amounts ($10, $25, $50, or $100) or enter a custom amount between $5 and $10,000.
The first time you top up, you will be taken to a secure checkout to enter your payment details. Your card is saved at that point. Every top-up after that charges the saved card instantly — no redirect, no re-entering card details — and your balance updates immediately.
Top Up Settings (automatic)
Use the Top Up Settings button to configure automatic top-ups and low-credit warnings so you never have to think about your balance.
Auto Top-Up
Auto Top-Up keeps your workspace running without interruption. When your balance falls below the level you set, TrustPager automatically charges your saved card and adds credits. Sends, automations, and voice calls carry on without a pause.
You configure three things:
- Trigger balance - the credit level that kicks off a top-up (for example, top up when I drop below 500 credits).
- Top-up amount - how much to add each time, in AUD.
- Monthly spending limit - a cap on how much Auto Top-Up can spend in a calendar month. If the limit is reached, Auto Top-Up pauses for the rest of the month and workspace admins receive an email. It resets on the first of the following month.
Auto Top-Up requires a saved card. It will charge at most once per hour, so a sudden spike in usage will not trigger repeated charges in quick succession.
Low-Credit Warnings
Low-Credit Warnings send email notifications to all workspace admins before the balance runs out. There are two independent thresholds:
- Warn me first at - a one-off heads-up email the first time the balance drops to or below this level.
- Daily reminders at - a daily nudge email once the balance is at or below this lower level, continuing each day until you top up.
These work whether or not Auto Top-Up is enabled. They are a useful safety net if you prefer to top up manually but want advance notice.
Your saved payment method
One payment method powers everything in your workspace: your subscription, Quick Top Up, and Auto Top-Up all charge the same card. It shows as Card on file: VISA .... 1234 (or your card type and last four digits) on the Subscription card and inside Top Up Settings.
To update it, click Change next to the card details. The new card takes effect for all future charges immediately — you only need to update it in one place.
Troubleshooting
Evie isn't responding. Your workspace is out of credits. Evie (the AI assistant in both the sidebar and the support chat) pauses automatically when your balance reaches zero and resumes the moment you top up. Add credits at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing.
An AI feature is greyed out or shows an error. Check your credit balance at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing. Most AI features require a minimum balance to run.
I do not know what used my credits. The credit log at https://app.trustpager.com/settings/billing lists every transaction with the feature name, timestamp, and credit amount.
Auto Top-Up is not firing. Check that a card is saved under Top Up Settings and that the trigger balance is set above your current balance. Auto Top-Up charges at most once per hour, so if it ran recently it may be within that window.
I hit my monthly spending limit. Auto Top-Up pauses until the first of the next month. You can still use Quick Top Up at any time to add credits manually — the monthly limit only applies to automatic charges.
