Contractor onboarding: portal and agreement
Set up an onboarding pipeline that automatically issues a contractor their portal and sends a signable services agreement the moment they reach a stage, so bringing on a new subcontractor is one drag of a card.
Bringing on a new contractor usually means the same steps every time: give them a portal, send them your agreement, get it signed. TrustPager can do all of that automatically when you move their card into a stage, the same way the referral partner onboarding works.
How it works
Your contractor onboarding pipeline has a stage that issues the portal and the agreement, for example a "Portal and Agreement" stage (or an existing stage like "Tiered"). An automation watches that stage. When a contractor's card reaches it, the automation:
- Creates the contractor's portal (their jobs hub), and
- Places your signable services agreement inside that portal for them to sign.
The contractor gets one portal invite where they sign the agreement, then see their jobs, all in the same place. Nothing is sent until you move the card, so you stay in control of timing.
The agreement
The agreement is a normal signable document in your workspace, so you can open it and edit the wording, your company details, and the clauses to match how you work. It's delivered into the portal rather than as a separate email, and both the contractor and your business countersign it.
Moving a contractor through
Add the contractor to their onboarding pipeline, then drag their card into the portal-and-agreement stage when you're ready to bring them on. Their portal appears and the agreement lands in it for signing. From there, assign them work orders and tasks (see Assign work to contractors and get job photos).
