# POST /websites/:website_id/deploy/domain/revalidate

**Resource:** [Websites](./websites.md)
**MCP tool:** `revalidate_website_domain`
**Scopes:** `websites:write`
**Write operation:** yes

Call this right after the owner points their www CNAME at the website. It asks the hosting provider to check the custom domain again immediately, so the security certificate is issued within a minute or two instead of waiting up to 15 minutes for the next scheduled check (visitors get a security error until it exists). Only acts when public DNS already points at the website and the domain is still pending; never detaches anything. Returns 409 if DNS has not changed yet, if the domain was re-checked in the last 60 seconds, or if the domain is "recoverable" (use retry_website_domain for that). Returns status "active" once live.

## Parameters

| Name | In | Type | Required | Description |
|------|----|------|----------|-------------|
| `website_id` | path | string | yes | |
| `require_approval` | body | boolean | no | Optional. Set true to route this write into the approval queue for human review instead of executing it immediately (returns 202 + an approval_id). Works even when your key/token has permission to execute directly. |
